The window for applications to the 2019-20 CKLDP class opened last week, and the deadline is July 1, 2019. We expect the process in year 2 to be very competitive. The link below includes a document describing what the Selection Jury will be looking for.
Applicants to the CKLDP program do not have to be licensed. However, they must have at least 2 years experience working in the A\E\C industry and cannot be more than 10 years removed since achieving first licensure in architecture. The strongest candidates will have been given some leadership opportunities at their firms, and have demonstrated leadership roles through industry, school, religious, civic, or other volunteer positions. Tuition is $500 for AIA members, more for non-members, and some financial assistance is available.
You can find out more about the program at the link below. And AIA Georgia is holding an information session for potential candidates, firm leaders, and anyone else interested in the program on June 20, at 6 pm at the offices of AIA Georgia (50 Hurt Plaza, Suite 109). The event will be live streamed for those outside of metro Atlanta.
